3PB Barristers (3 Paper Buildings) has very sadly reported today that senior crime and regulatory barrister Tim BradburyTimothy Bradbury - RIPCall: 1989, pictured here, passed away last Saturday 28 December 2024 after a long illness. An exceptional barrister and an even better man, Tim will be remembered for his dedication to his clients and to 3PB in equal measure.

The Weldmar Hospice in Dorset treated Tim beautifully and was so supportive to Claire and his family. Tim could not have received better care. Indeed, if you live in West or North Dorset, you may well want to support the charity by recycling your Christmas tree this year.

Tom Horder, who co-leads 3PB’s Tier 1 Crime and Crime Regulatory team, said: “We are devastated by the loss of Tim. He was so much more than just an outstanding advocate. We will forever remember his irreverent sense of humour, sharp wit and willingness to give up his time to help his colleagues and offer what was always sage advice. Chambers and the Western Circuit will not be the same without him. Our thoughts are with Claire and his family, as well as his many friends, at this exceptionally difficult time."

Formerly Standing Counsel to HMRC's Prosecutions Office (Western Circuit), Tim regularly prosecuted HMRC cases and was a grade 4 prosecutor of serious criminal cases for the CPS and other government prosecuting agencies. Tim also had a strong defendant practice advising on HMRC fraud, evasion of VAT & Excise, importation of drugs, arms trafficking and serious sexual and violent offences. He was also well-known as an expert in the field of regulatory crime and the proceeds of crime, and was regularly instructed in fisheries, animal and firearms cases. Practising principally on the Western Circuit, Tim also worked in serious criminal cases across the UK. Tim also sat as a legally qualified Chair for the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service.

Tim’s funeral is on Saturday 11 January 2025 at 10:30am at Long Barrow Ceremony Hall in Poole. Please arrive at 10:00 am.
