Jennifer Agyekum is successful in an appeal against the suspension of a childminder

3PB’s specialist public and regulatory law barrister, Jennifer Agyekum (pictured here) has been successful in an appeal against an Ofsted decision to suspend the registration of a childminder. Jennifer was instructed on this case by Lauren Wilson at Markel Law.
The appellant, who had been a childminder for over 10 years was suspended from the Early Years Register and both the compulsory and voluntary parts of the Childcare Register following an incident which occurred on 10 March 2021.
The judgement, which was handed down on 26th August 2021, ruled that the suspension by Ofsted shall cease to have effect immediately.
