Family barrister Laura Buchan moves to 3PB
3rd February 2025

Family barrister Laura Buchan (2016 call), a busy private law children, financial remedies and TOLATA specialist, will join 3PB (3 Paper Buildings) on Tuesday 11 February. Laura is also renowned as a family law specialist in cases involving crypto-assets and contesting legal costs in divorce and other family financial disputes. Commended by clients in Legal 500 as "extremely analytical and "her attention to detail is second-to-none," Laura was described as a family law barrister who "presented cases eloquently and is ferocious when needed.”
A passionate advocate and exponent of non-court dispute resolution, Laura often represents her clients in round table meetings, mediations, arbitrations and private FDRs, where she is frequently instructed as a private FDR evaluator. Just this month, Laura completed a TOLATA mediation.
Laura is also a regular contributor to the magazine High Net Worth about divorce, access to children and disputes between parents, and is a regular host of the Family Law Week podcasts and has been interviewed by Our Family Wizard and Lawyers Who Care. She is a frequent speaker at public seminars and online on a variety of financial remedy-related topics.
Commenting on her move, Laura Buchan said: "I’m really looking forward to joining 3PB’s excellent team of family law barristers, clerks and support staff. 3PB have an outstanding national reputation for advocacy, client care and legal insight. What a great chambers.”
Vanessa Meachin KC, Head of 3PB's 88-strong Family Law Group, said: “I am delighted to welcome Laura to 3PB. She is well known to us already and gets excellent client feedback for her advocacy, mediation and arbitration work. I look forward to seeing her career develop here."
Laura Buchan's recruitment follows the news since last October of two other family barristers joining the national chambers: with Imogen Robins returning to 3PB from Pump Court Chambers and Frida Dahlqvist moving across from KCH Garden Square.
