Members of 3PB’s commercial group advise and act in a wide variety of international disputes including high-value and high-profile international litigation and arbitrations. We also obtain enforcement in this jurisdiction of judgments and arbitration awards obtained abroad.
The team brings together skills gained over many years working around the world with major companies and commercial organisations in both legal and commercial roles, so you have barristers who are well versed and experienced in managing the particular demands of international practice. We regularly advise and represent clients ranging from multinational companies and state-owned corporations, to individuals engaged in international trade.
We have particular experience of disputes relating to jurisdiction and conflicts of laws. We also have a longstanding expertise in the Middle East and Far East, with significant knowledge of both the civil and commercial laws of those jurisdictions, and Islamic law.
Our contentious work includes advocacy in the English courts and before international tribunals. We are able to respond quickly to obtain urgent Court relief to preserve assets, obtain freezing and search orders, or in support of arbitrations. We can advise you on the suitability of urgent relief, and guide you through the tactics and procedure of obtaining it.
Some of our members also undertake non-contentious work including advice or assistance in commercial negotiations, dispute avoidance and acting as expert witnesses on English Law.
