3PB Insolvency Law Update London - Thursday 6 June - 5:30pm

You are invited by 3PB’s Commercial Team to an insolvency case law update hosted by Cheryl Jones, Charles Irvine and Rebecca Farrell.

Our panel members will discuss recent significant decisions so far from 2024 and their thoughts on the upcoming Supreme Court appeal concerning Section 423 of the Insolvency Act 1986. This seminar will principally be useful for those specialising in insolvency and company disputes. However, the latter part of the talk has wider implications for commercial practitioners concerned with asset recovery.

Topics include:

• Office holder remuneration – the ability to seek additional remuneration after vacation of office and tips for applications of this nature
• Bankruptcy petitions – the use of foreign judgments in bankruptcy petitions and associated issues
• Funding – litigation funding agreement based on a multiple of the funding provided in the spotlight post R (on the application of PACCAR Inc and others) (Appellants) v Competition Appeal Tribunal and others (Respondents) [2023] UKSC 28
• Transactions defrauding creditors / relief under S423 IA 186 – reflections on the issues the Supreme Court will tackle in the upcoming matter of El-Husseini v Invest Bank PSC
