The Tenant Fees Act 2019 to be discussed at 3PB seminar on 15 May

On 11th April 2019, the Tenant Fees Act 2019 (Commencement No.3) Regulations 2019 were issued. These provide for the bringing into operation of the following sections:
- Sections 25 – 27 and 29 (dealing with the lead enforcement agencies) on 15th April 2019
- The balance of the Act (not already in force) on 1st June 2019.
- The Tenant Fees Act provides for the removal and capping of administration fees charged to tenants, together with civil and criminal liability for unlawful fees. It also caps the level of holding deposits and imposes further limitations upon the use of section 21 notices.
