On 6 April 2016 3PB Barristers Paul Newman and Christopher Edwards took part in a Mediation Update and Mock Mediation at Cardiff University. The Wales Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Association of Wales & Border Counties Mediators and 3PB Barristers jointly organised the event.

Paul Newman delivered the keynote address, speaking to an audience of around 75 lawyers and mediation professionals.

The mock mediation followed, which allowed the cast members to display their acting skills with aplomb, whilst creating a thoughtful dialogue with the audience about mediation techniques. Steve Probert of the Intellectual Property Office acted as mediator with Bristol solicitor and mediator, Lise Seager, fulfilling the role of moderator.

Feedback included - 'I attended the CIArb Mediation update in Cardiff yesterday and was very impressed with the content and performance’, ‘Fantastic’ and 'an informative, interesting and artful event, especially given the restricted timescale’.
