3PB welcome family barrister Grant Keyes
4th May 2023
3PB Barristers (3 Paper Buildings) is delighted to announce that private and public law children barrister Grant Keyes, from Senate House Chambers in Northampton, is to join its 80-strong team of family barristers with immediate effect.
Grant Keyes (2007 call), pictured here, represents parents, children through their children’s guardians and intervenors in a wide range of family law cases at all levels of judiciary including the Court of Appeal. He is often working in cases involving vulnerable children who have suffered significant trauma in their lives, and regularly works with intermediaries on particularly emotionally charged and complex cases.
A former management professional with American Express, Channel 4 and Accenture before joining the Bar, Grant always fights for the rights of his clients and uses his forensic approach to complex cases and skilled advocacy whilst providing clear and realistic advice to the most demanding clients. Grant is counsel in the ongoing Family Law Awards' Case of the Year, H-W (Care Proceedings: Further Fact-Finding Hearing) [2023] EWCA Civ 149, in which the Court of Appeal allowed an appeal against a judge’s decision not to order a further fact-finding hearing in long-running care proceedings.
Vanessa Meachin KC, Head of 3PB's Family Law Group said of Grant's appointment: “We are delighted to welcome Grant to our team. He is a highly respected advocate with a strong list of reported family law cases to his name. His recruitment further strengthens the breadth and choice of quality counsel available at 3PB for care and private law children disputes. I look forward to welcoming Grant in person at 3PB's all-day Private Law Children and Financial Remedies Conference next Thursday." (11 May 2023)
Grant joins fellow family barristers Nigel Hawkins (call 2023; Sol:1994), Laura Scott (2001 call), Kate Yeomans (2007 call), Ayesha Bell-Paris (2012 call), Harriet Lavis (2014 call), Komal Patel (2016 call), Kellie Salter (2019 call) and Elizabeth Porteous (2021 call) who have all recently moved to the national chambers' Family Law Group.
