Rachel Bale discusses how Her Bar is celebrating International Women's Day 2023
8th March 2023
3PB Barristers’ (3 Paper Buildings) specialist property, chancery and financial remedy barrister Rachel Bale (pictured here) has written about how Her Bar is celebrating International Women’s Day 2023.
Her Bar was founded in 2021 by Rachel during her pupillage at 3PB, alongside Nasreen Shah of Great James Street Chambers. Her Bar is an online hub dedicated to creating a network for aspiring and practising women barristers, offering support, guidance and community at all points of their careers.
For 2023, the theme of International Women’s Day is #EmbraceEquity. This looks at how valuable implementing equity rather than merely equality is, and recognises that each person has different circumstances which therefore necessitates the allocation of the specific resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome, rather than simply providing ‘equal’ opportunities for everyone.

Equity is a concept that Her Bar has embraced from its creation and forms the basis on which many of the networks events and schemes are founded.
The next event that Her Bar will be hosting is a shopping event at Hobbs Covent Garden, coming soon. The event will include a drinks reception, networking opportunities and a 20% discount on all clothing. The event is completely free to all members.
