Discrimination claims
3PB’s team of specialist education barristers represent both claimants and defendant local authorities, schools, universities and colleges covering every aspect of discrimination in employment and education, dealing with cases as diverse as equal pay, public sector equality duty and the regulation to promote equality and diversity. The team are experts in education law as well as human resources and discrimination.
Our barristers regularly advise on all forms of discrimination, victimisation and harassment including age, race, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marital status, religion or belief, and disability. Our work in disability discrimination claims including direct discrimination, indirect discrimination and further specific claims of failing to make reasonable adjustments. Claims have focused – amongst the full range of disability discrimination claims - on Special Education Needs (SEN) provision, examination concessions, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, accessibility in pace and content by the student and the misuse of delegated SEN budgets.
