Inquests: Article 2 engagement and impact

Due to popular demand, Sunyana Sharma and Susan Jones will be presenting the second webinar in the 3PB introduction to inquests series again on 16th September - after a very well received session ran earlier in September.

In this webinar “Article 2 engagement and effect” our speakers will explore the effect of the recent decision of Maguire v HM Senior Coroner for Blackpool [2020] EWCA Civ 738 and the effect this will have on when Article 2 is and is not likely to be engaged.

We will also consider the impact of Article 2 on the inquest procedure with a particular focus on the impact it has on the record of inquest particularly following the judgment in R (on the application of Carole Smith) v HM Assistant Coroner for North West Wales and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board [2020] EWHC 781 (Admin).
