Paul Newman, 3PB TCC barrister, joins RICS working party for construction disputes

30th September 2016

Paul Newman, 3PB construction law member and mediator accepted a RICS invitation to join its new working party on the resolution of smaller construction disputes with a value of up to £50,000.

This initiative stems from anecdotal evidence that contractors, particularly small and medium sized enterprises, are now deciding not to go to adjudication because the costs can often outweigh the sums in dispute. The working party is tasked with addressing this concern.

Paul is a member of the 3PB Construction team, specialist Construction barristers providing advice and dispute resolution to the construction and technology sectors. We operate across the UK, and internationally.

We have been advising clients, and representing them in legal proceedings, as advocates since the 1970s. As neutrals, our members are renowned for their expertise in determining disputes. We have the largest collection of FIDIC Adjudicators anywhere in the world.

Unlike many barristers’ chambers, a significant proportion of our members are qualified in a construction profession, in which they have previously practised.
