Commercial and Business disputes form a significant part of Oliver's practice. He provides commercial advice, drafts the full range of pleadings and is an effective advocate appearing regularly in the High Court and County Court.
Oliver is instructed by and appears against large multinationals and institutions. He has particular expertise advising company directors and companies following the termination of service contracts.

He also has a particular niche in permanent health insurance benefits, including permanent health insurance policy disputes and claims involving the mis-selling of such policies
Oliver has particular expertise dealing with claims of professional negligence acting for Claimants and Defendants. He has particular expertise in claims involving lawyers - particularly lost and/or mishandled litigation claims, dealing with limitation, contributory negligence and quantum issues that arise in such claims. He has particular expertise in the valuation of lost chances in negligence claims involving employment disputes.
Oliver regularly advises on disputes involving land, particularly negligent conveyancing, overvaluations of commercial and residential property and negligent surveys of residential property.
Oliver also has particular expertise in advising solicitors dealing with regulatory matters involving the SRA.
