Nicholas Braslavsky QC has a specialist practice in medical negligence (including orthopaedic, obstetric, gynaecological, intensive care, anaesthetics, vascular, accident and emergency, ophthalmic, ENT and neurology) and all aspects of personal injury including those arising from road traffic accidents, industrial diseases (such as asbestosis), employer’s liability, product liability and public liability.

His practice comprises of high-value, complex and often high profile cases arising out of accidents on the road, in the workplace, in the military setting and arising out of sporting and high risk leisure pursuits, He acts for both Claimants and Defendants and is a member of the Sports Resolutions Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators.

He has been involved in a large number of catastrophic injury cases involving complex spinal and neurological injury including PVS claims.

His military cases included actions arising out of Bosnia, Germany, Iraq and Afghanistan

Has acted in a large number of birth damages cases for both claimants and the NHS involving detailed and difficult issues surrounding the cause and timing of damage and case valuation

In the regulatory field, his experience is wide having conducted cases in the field of  professional disciplines. He has appeared regularly in the GMC, in the disciplinary tribunal of the British Psychological Society at inquests and in various bodies governing sports including the Jockey Club and IG British Horseracing Authority.

Nicholas Braslivksy QC took silk in 1999 and is a recorder (crime and civil) and sits as a Deputy Judge of the High Court (QBD).

  • Representing a young woman who suffered catastrophic injury (tetraplegia) following a go-kart accident.
  • Representing a Premiership Rugby Football forward injured during the course of a pre-season match and alleging negligence against the tackler.
  • Representing a well-known UK fairground at which the claimant alleges to have rendered tetraplegia following a regular ride.
  • Representing a cosmetic surgeon in relation to a potential claim following his defence to a £50 million claim brought by a patient.
  • Representing a six year old girl suffering paraplegia in addition to congenital musculo-skeletal dysplasia following a road accident.
