Darren practices predominantly in civil fraud. He has particular expertise in fighting insurance fraud matters including high value motor and personal injury claims, including staged accidents; non-existent accidents; phantom passengers, low velocity impact claims where either no, or significantly exaggerated injures are claimed to have been suffered, large scale fraud rings, and complex credit hire cases.
He is regularly instructed in civil proceedings by a number of the UK’s major leading insurance companies, and is known for having a real eye for finding inconsistency across the breadth of evidence. His practice is pre-dominantly in court, (although he is frequently instructed at a very early stage of investigations to test evidence in conference in order to assess the feasibility of a pleading of fraud), and he is praised for his advocacy and outstanding rate of success with dealing with the issue of liability at all levels.
Darren also has a particular interest in contentious commercial insurance disputes, and accepts instructions from insurers wishing to consider avoiding insurance contracts for material misrepresentation or non-disclosure.
